Monardella purpurea—serpentine monardella. The species grows primarily in Del Norte County of California and neighboring counties of southwestern Oregon. It offten, but not always, grows on serpentine substrates. A note in Jepson eFlora questions the identification of collections from other counties of California. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
