1823-1840[edit]

"British Entomology" was originally published in 192 monthly parts from 1824 to 1839, each part containing 4 or 5 sequentially numbered plates. The plates were then bound into eight volumes in systematic order unrelated to the plate numbers. For priority purposes the original publication date can be ascertained from the plate number as follows: 1824: 1-50; 1825: 51-98; 1826: 99-146; 1827: 147-194; 1828: 195-241 (including 205*); 1829: 242-289; 1830: 290-337; 1831: 338-385; 1832: 386-433; 1833: 434-481; 1834: 482-529; 1835: 530-577; 1836: 578-625; 1837: 626-673; 1838: 674-721; 1839: 722-769.
