    • Designated by Knapp (2013).
  • Type location: Cultivated in Geneva, 1834, originally from Chile.

    • Lectotype: C. Bertero 635 (P00319395, P; Morton neg. 8142, G neg. 39141)
      • Designated by Knapp (2013).
    • Type location: "Chile".
  • Solanum germainii Phil. (1858:23, "germaini")
    • Holotype: R.A. Philippi s.n. (SGO-55447, SGO)
    • Isotypes: B (destroyed, F neg. 2732), LE, MA (MA-533038)
    • Type location: Chile. Región Metropolitana: Prov. Santiago, mountains near "Aculco".
      • Knapp emends "Aculco" to "Aculeo". If this is the es:Laguna de Aculeo, the province is incorrect, as the Laguna (recently dried up) was locape in Maipo Province.
  • Solanum tenuicaule Dunal Phil. (1895:13)
    • Lectotype: s.c. s.n. (SGO-55451, SGO000004604, SGO)
      • Designated by Knapp (2013).
    • Type location: "Chile".
