• Type locality: On Spirodela polyrhiza, in a temporary freshwater container located outside of the Faculty of Education Building, Toyama University, Japan, 36.7° N, 137.187° E.
• Holotype: Transmission electron microcopy block #334 of Shin Watanabe, fixed materials derived from strain NIES-3575, deposited at the George Safford Torrey Herbarium, University of Connecticut, accession number CONN 256414.
