Request for vote reg use of BASEPAGENAME

The previous discussions regarding if we should subst:ing BASEPAGENAME and change all [[BASEPAGENAME]] into [[susbt:BASEPAGENAME]] did not really reach a consensus.

Wikispecies Oversighter

Wikispecies has no local Oversighter. Since I had the communitys confidence regarding the previous application for Checkusers rights, as per local Oversight policy on META, I hereby apply to get Oversighters user rights, as a request to the Wikispecies community.

Application is located at Requests for Comment.

Please also note that Oversighter actions are logged, but for privacy reasons the logs are only visible to other Oversighters. Because of this, Wikispecies must always have no fewer than two oversighters, for mutual accountability. I don't want to suggest anyone, but hope that someone feel inspired and will step forward and also apply for oversighters rights.

Ailuropoda minor

Is this a paleospecies ancestral to the extant Giant Panda - well out of my expertise however, so have not deleted the page. Regards Andyboorman (talk) 11:34, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Ailuropoda minor is probably a distortion of Ailuropoda microta Pei, 1962. Burmeister (talk) 12:02, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello Andyboorman and Burmeister, the paleospecies ancestral is Ailuropoda microta indeed. And A. minor is a pure invention from the Wikimedia project that needs to disappear :) Totodu74 (talk) 12:04, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Unfortunately, that kind of invention in the "en.wiki" is not uncommon, see Panthera leo europaea see Burmeister (talk) 12:08, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

I mark Panthera leo europaea for deletion too (another wiki invention that disperse through time). I think is to late to identify the author, those creations date from 2006 for europaea on en.wiki and from 2008 for minor on it.wiki. Burmeister (talk) 12:24, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
