At least one species of non-ant insect is named after her: Costomedes cheesmanae. There are four ant species named after her: Pheidole cheesmanae Donisthorpe, 1941; Camponotus cheesmanae Donisthorpe, 1932; Polyrhachis cheesmanae Donisthorpe, 1937 and Technomyrmex cheesmanae Donisthorpe, 1945.
